We were proud to host our first Patient Engagement Summit on the 29th April, marking an important milestone in our organisation’s journey and our continued commitment to listening, learning, and improving the care and support we provide to patients and their families.
A sincere thank you to everyone who attended and shared their experiences throughout the day. The discussions were incredibly insightful, with a wealth of valuable ideas, perspectives, and feedback shared by patients, carers, families and colleagues. It was especially valuable to welcome members from other organisations, whose involvement brought wider perspectives and helped strengthen conversations around collaboration, innovation, and improving patient experiences across services.
One of the most meaningful parts of the summit was hearing directly from patients, friends, and family members who have used our services. Listening to personal experiences within healthcare and hearing thoughtful and positive feedback about the care provided was both encouraging and deeply appreciated. These conversations are essential in helping us understand what matters most to the people we support and how we can continue to improve and develop our services moving forward.
We would also like to extend a very special thank you to Denise Ffitch for attending the summit and for bravely speaking in the video shared about her late husband, Clive Ffitch, and his end-of-life patient journey on our Virtual Ward. Denise’s reflections were incredibly moving and powerful, and it was a privilege to hear about Clive’s experience and the impact the service had on both him and his family during such an important time. Her contribution brought great meaning to the event and highlighted the importance of compassionate, patient-centred care.
The summit was a wonderful opportunity to bring people together, share experiences, and begin building even stronger relationships with our patients, communities, and partner organisations. We hope this is just the beginning of ongoing collaboration and meaningful patient engagement as we continue working together to make a positive difference for those who use our services.
